Copyright Infringement Policy

M3U8 Player Online respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users to do the same. Our service is designed as a tool for website owners to play M3U8, HLS, DASH, and MP4 streams legally on their websites. We do not host, store, or distribute any media content ourselves.

However, we recognize that our player might be used by some individuals to access or display unauthorized content. We take copyright infringement seriously and will take appropriate action when notified of potential violations.

Our Responsibility

M3U8 Player Online is a tool designed for legitimate use by website owners who need to play streaming media. As a service provider, we:

  • Do not host or store any media content
  • Do not control what streams users choose to play
  • Do not monitor or review the content of streams played through our service

While we are not legally responsible for how users utilize our player, we are committed to helping copyright owners protect their intellectual property by blocking access to infringing streams when properly notified.

Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you believe that your copyrighted work is being infringed through our player, please submit a notification containing the following information:

  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
  3. The exact URL of the stream being played through our service
  4. Your contact information (name, address, telephone number, and email)
  5. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner
  6. A statement that the information in the notification is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner

Please submit your DMCA notices through our Contact Form or via email to the address listed on our contact page.

Our Response

Upon receiving a valid DMCA notice, we will:

  1. Promptly investigate the reported stream
  2. Block access to the infringing stream through our player
  3. Notify you of the action taken

Please note that blocking a stream on our player does not remove the content from its original source. The content may still be accessible through other means or players.

Finding the Original Source of a Stream

If you discover infringing content being played through our player, it's important to identify the actual source of the stream. This will help you take more effective action against the party hosting the content. Here's how to find the original source using browser developer tools:

1

Open Developer Tools

Right-click on the player and select "Inspect" or "Inspect Element" (or press F12 in most browsers).

Opening Developer Tools
  1. In Chrome: Right-click → Inspect
  2. In Firefox: Right-click → Inspect Element
  3. In Safari: Enable Developer Tools in Preferences first, then right-click → Inspect Element
  4. In Edge: Right-click → Inspect
2

Navigate to the Network Tab

In the developer tools panel, click on the "Network" tab. This will show all network requests made by the page.

Tip: Make sure to refresh the page after opening the Network tab to capture all requests.
3

Filter for Media or M3U8 Files

In the network panel:

  1. Look for a filter box and type ".m3u8" or ".ts" (for HLS streams)
  2. Alternatively, use the "Media" filter if available
  3. For DASH streams, look for ".mpd" files
  4. For MP4 files, look for ".mp4" extensions
4

Identify the Source URL

Look at the "Domain" or "Path" column to see where the stream is coming from. The domain name will typically reveal the actual hosting provider of the content.

Example of what to look for

https://example-cdn.com/path/to/stream/index.m3u8

In this example, example-cdn.com is the domain hosting the content.

5

Report to the Appropriate Party

Once you've identified the source:

  1. Contact the hosting provider directly with your DMCA notice
  2. Many hosting providers have dedicated copyright or abuse email addresses
  3. Also report the stream to us so we can block it from our player
